    Memories and Tributes

  • (11/12/16) The service for Don was very nice. A few friends and neighbors attended and then John and I read the Sailor's Prayer and gave him a burial at sea.

  • (10/11/16) Webmaster: I knew Don through email exchanges over the last decade. He first exhibited his artistic talents on the various artwork he created during his naval enlistment (see below). When VFP-62 squadron members were assisting the restoration of the RF-8 Crusader at Battleship Park Mobile, AL, Don recreated stencils for painting the Crusader's insignia (see below).

  • VFP-62's distinctive film stripe wing and tail insignia recreated by Don. He captured the colors perfectly.
