    Timeline
    • Graduated from U.S. Naval Academy in 1955, where he placed first in "Leadership" and second in "Military."

    • Married Jimmie Claire Copeland October, 1957. They had three children.

    • "Hank," as he was known to his many friends, was a fighter pilot with VFP-62's USS Saratoga Detachment.

    • Sept. 22 - Nov. 28, 1962 deployed with Attack Squadron 125 ATKROV125 and aircraft carriers Kearsarge, Hancock, and Oriskany

    • Graduated from the Navy Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA., with a master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering

    • While in California, he was directly involved with the development of the Walleye and Condor missiles in the Naval Air Systems.

    • Hank was Commanding Officer of the Naval Rework Facility in Norfolk, VA and later Project Manager of the Trident Training Facility at the Trident Submarine Base in Kings Bay, GA.

    • He retired on 1 July 1986 with the rank of captain after 30 years of active duty.

    • During his service in the Navy, he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Legion of Merit Medal.
