[Webmaster's Note: Originally, J.J. McKenna, a former VFP-62 squadron member and frequent contributor to the site provided a link to a photo on: ( flicker.com )
, showing the rear fueslage of RF-8 wreckage found in China. I posted the link to "Vietnam Operations" Page and following that was contacted by the photographer, Howard Shen. His story follows:]

Dear Sirs,
My name is Howard Shen. I am the photographer that took the picture of the tail section of the F8U-1P (RF-8) in China. I took it when I visited the Da Tang Shan Air Museum in 1991. As you can see, it was sitting among some other pretty interesting things in the back lot (among them the wreckage of a chinese nationalist air force U-2). Anyhow, I have attached the picture I posted on flickr.com in high resolution as well as two additional pictures of the same tail section. Please use them as you wish, including posting it on your website. All I would like to have is photographer's credit. I wish I could have gotten closer to the actual wreckage, taken more pictures or have more information. Anyhow, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
Further more, as a young man that grew up in Taiwan, I want to show my appreciation and gratitude to those who fought and those who gave their lives fighting the spread of Communism in Asia. I know for a fact, that without these sacrifices, many of us would not have the freedom to do what we are doing here today. Thank you.
Howard Shen
